I don’t know how I ever got an award for student journalism. I’m really bad about getting people to talk, and, like, asking questions and stuff. OH! I know, when you’re mostly interviewing professors… Not a hard job.
In our day, those found in dishonesty aren’t put to death, but something within them dies. Conscience chokes, character withers, self-respect vanishes, and integrity dies. Without honesty, our lives disintegrate into ugliness, chaos, and a lack of any kind of security and confidence.
Everywhere we saw failure and misery transformed by humility into priceless assets.
Be confident: When you slam into a coast, do it like you mean it. Don’t end your sentences with question marks — if you tell your boss you’re going to erode a coastline, say, “I’m going to erode this coastline, PERIOD.
